The Hour of Power Saturday Program

The Hour of Power Saturday Program; we conduct sessions that have themes on how to succeed in life that are brought out in short lectures and expanded on by group discussions.  Each session has team building period with a History Bee and/or poetry/rap contests.  Sessions conclude with general discussions of what’s happening now or what may be the hot topic or interest of the students that day. The program includes educational, cultural and recreational activities and outings that expand students learning while having fun interacting with each other and CBM’s positive role models. The program is carried out from our office location targeting participants who are 15 to 18 years of age.

Hour of Power Saturday Program  - Pledge

Written by Kelvin Glymph

I take the challenge to Power Up (to do the things that will help me to succeed in life).

I understand Knowledge is True Power

Education is our passport to the future for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.

No matter my present situation I understand education is the great equalizer and the key to my success.

Now is the time for me to put in the HARD WORK along with Self-Discipline and

Self-Denial to succeed and secure a great future for myself.

If it is to be it is up to me.

Not only will I strive to uplift myself but strive to be a positive force

for my family, community, school, the world and this program.

Today I continue the march toward Achieving and Succeeding in Life.
